Executive Committee, Central Committee and Standing Committees

Executive Committee

Composition

The Executive Committee comprises 50 or fewer committee members appointed by the chairperson, and the executive vice chairperson assumes the chief of the Executive Committee.

Duties

The Executive Committee deliberates the following matters.

  • Matters on the establishment, revision and abolishment of regulations regarding the management of NUAC
  • Deliberation on the cancellation of appointments of council members
  • Other matters on the management of NUAC

Central Committee

Composition
  • The Central Committee comprises 300~500 committee members appointed by the chairperson from council members, taking into account their hometowns and functions.
  • The executive vice chairperson assumes the chief of the Central Committee, and the vice chairpersons assume the member of the Central Committees.
Duties

The Central Committee deliberates the following matters.

  • Matters assigned by NUAC
  • Matters ordered by the chairperson of NUAC
  • Matters decided by each standing committee

Standing Committee

Composition
  • The members of Standing Committees are appointed by the chief of the Central Committee from the members of the Central Committee, taking into account their careers, duties and hometowns.
  • The 15th NUAC has a total of 10 Standing Committees.
  • Each Standing Committee comprises at least 20 members, including one chief and one secretary, and the chief and secretary of a standing committee are appointed by the chairperson.
Duties

Each Standing Committee deliberates the following matters.

  • Deliberation of matters submitted by the chief of the Central Committee
  • Preliminary deliberation on the matters of standing committees to be submitted to the Central Committee
  • Research of matters related to unification by area and the development of relevant policy
  • Collection of and recommendation on opinions with respect to unification by area

Politics & Inter-Korea Dialogue Committee Research and policy recommendation on the implementation of inter-Korean dialogue and the development of inter-Korean relations
Security & International Cooperation Committee Research and policy recommendation on the establishment of peace in the Korean Peninsula and Korean networks
Economy, Science & Environment Committee Research and policy recommendation on the economic, scientific and environmental exchange between the two Koreas
Education & National Reconciliation Committee Research and policy recommendation on unification education and the plans for national reconciliation
Culture, Sports & Tourism Committee Research and policy recommendation on the cultural, sports and tourism exchange between the two Koreas.
Human Rights & Welfare Committee Research and policy recommendation on the status of the human rights and welfare of North Korean people
Women & Resettlement Support Committee Research and policy recommendation on the support for inter-Korean women's exchange and the resettlement of North Korean defectors
Religion & Humanitarian Aid Committee Research and policy recommendation on inter-Korean religion exchange and humanitarian aid
Youth Committee Research and policy recommendation on youth exchange
